4 Things You Need To Know About Real Estate Now

If you care about or follow the real estate market, I learned a few things I thought I’d share from the Inman Connect Real Estate conference I attended in Las Vegas last week.

Things you need to know:

1. 1. On Aug 17th, if you want to see an open home with a Realtor, you will need to sign a buyer representation agreement. This agreement can last a day, a week, a month, but you’ll need one.
2. Commissions can no longer show up on the MLS. (Realtors can post that info on their own websites) (we are launching a new real estate website this month to host our listings and resource guides)
3. The term “everything is negotiable” will be even more in use than ever before.
5. 2. Sellers will continue to find that offering compensation to the buyers agent is smart marketing.
6. Interest rates will most likely go down in September according to an article in Reuters;
8. 3. Housing affordability was the biggest issue discussed at the conferences. It’s a nationwide issue and it will take years to build enough homes to release the demand pressure. Also, due to life events, sellers will eventually have to get out of their 2.5 interest mortgaged homes and inventory will loosen. Eventually.
10. 4. The cost and availability of Insurance coverage should be researched early on in the buying process of a home.
11. Showing value. That was a key element that most presenters covered including our own Real Broker President, Sharran Srivatsaa who appeared at both the Inman conference and the productivity conference we attended, too.
12. 
    We have gone above and beyond with the 365Hawaii ecosystem of videos, new resident groups, parties, books, guides, blog posts, and helping our buyers and sellers with our physical energy to move out or in.
    They predict many Realtors will leave the business in the next year or two..I’ve just started rolling up my sleeves.
